ABOUT A REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST

A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) is a regulated health care professional. A RMT has completed  two to three years of schooling. Some of the courses taken in these years of schooling are Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Kinesiology, Hydrotherapy, Pubic Health, Nutrition and Neurophysiology. In addition to completing our schooling a RMT needs to pass a written and practical exam to be registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Benefits of massage therapy Massage therapy involves the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to alleviate pain, muscle spasm and stress. Massage therapy can improve joint mobility, improve circulation, improve immune function, increase lymphatic drainage and can reduce depression and anxiety.
